Attorney general nominee William Barr’s 8-year-old grandson Liam left a note for his grandfather during his Senate confirmation hearing Tuesday.
“Dear Grandpa, I love you so much you are doing great so far, but I know you still will,” read the note penned on a U.S. Senate notepad, read. “I am having so much fun.”
Liam also added that he felt Russian people were OK and blamed their government instead.
“P.S. I think Russia’s people are fine,” Liam continued in his confirmation hearing doodles, which he was spotted writing by Reuters’ photographers. “It is the government is the problem.”

Liam is Barr’s daughter Mary Daly’s son. Daly is a federal prosecutor who works under Rod Rosenstein.
Senators on both sides of the political aisle praised Liam for his good behavior during the testimony, which lasted hours, the Washington Post reported.
President Trump nominated Barr on Dec. 7 to take over former Attorney General Jeff Session’s position. Trump fired Sessions in early November in part because he recused himself from the Russia investigation.
On Tuesday, Barr appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee for his confirmation and said that Sessions “probably did the right thing” by recusing himself.
