The State Department has yet to release some of Hillary Clinton’s emails, State Department spokesman Mark Toner said Wednesday.
“I don’t think that it’s a large number [of emails],” Toner said, and emphasized that while the State Department has released “all of” the work-related emails Clinton gave them, there are “stray examples” that have not been released.
An audit by the State Department inspector general Wednesday revealed a November 2010 email in which Clinton aide Huma Abedin told Clinton she should consider getting an official email account or making her private email known. This email was not included in any of the State Department’s publically released tranches.
“We should talk about putting you on state email or releasing your email address to the department so you are not going to spam,” Abedin wrote, according to Politico. Clinton echoed her concern, writing that she didn’t “want any risk of the personal being accessible.”
“We’ve found additional things … that there are additional emails out there, and this case is a case of such an example,” Toner said.
He would not say whether the State Department would release the emails relevant to the watchdog’s audit.
