Twitter and Facebook remove parody baby video posted by Trump

Twitter and Facebook removed a parody video that President Trump posted Thursday.

Twitter claimed the video was removed Friday after a parent of one of the video’s depicted children filed a copyright complaint.

Junkin Media, a representative for the parent, told CNN Business, “Neither the video owner nor Junkin Media gave the President permission to post the video, and after our review, we believe that his unauthorized usage of the content is a clear example of copyright infringement without valid fair use or other defense.”

The video, which originally depicted a black baby and a white baby running and hugging each other, was changed to show a fake news network made to look like CNN calling the white baby racist for chasing after the black baby.

Twitter labeled the video as “manipulated media” on Thursday. In an explanation, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted, “Our intention is to connect the dots of conflicting statements and show the information in dispute so people can judge for themselves. More transparency from us is critical so folks can clearly see the why behind our actions.”
