President Trump said Tuesday his friend-turned-foe, retiring Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., was taken advantage of by the New York Times in a recent interview.

A New York Times reporter who covered the interview said Corker also recorded the interview as part of a broader strategy to handle Trump.
“Comments after C-ville, the ‘chaos’ remark last wk, which he repeated for cameras in Capitol basement. It’s all planned,” Jonathan Martin tweeted Sunday. “As was his call today. He had 2 aides on line, 1 taping us. Corker is effectively staging a slow-rolling public intervention w Trump.”

Trump and Corker have been fighting about foreign policy on social media and in press interviews the past few weeks, but the infighting escalated Sunday when the New York publication ran an interview with Corker.
The senator said Trump was treating his presidency like a “reality TV show” and was putting the U.S. “on the path to World War III.”
Trump tweeted Sunday that Corker had “begged” him for an endorsement in the 2018 re-election, but the GOP leader refused.
