Fox News host Greg Gutfeld slammed vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris’s first appearance as presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s running mate Wednesday by accusing her of “theatrics” and saying “anything to get power.”
“She will ruin you for political reasons,” Gutfeld said on Fox News’s The Five. “If you’re new to politics, you’ve learned a sober lesson. It’s complete and utter BS. People will say anything to get power. So what she did was she was willing to crush [Brett] Kavanaugh and crush Joe Biden, but when the door opens up for power, that all goes out the window.”
Gutfeld expressed that he was confused as to how Harris could comment in 2019 that she believed women who said they were sexually harassed by Biden and called for the impeachment of Justice Brett Kavanaugh over sexual misconduct allegations but joined Biden’s presidential ticket anyway.
“It’s probably because she’s just lying,” Gutfeld said. “If she can make an attack like that on Joe Biden for debate theatrics months ago, it’s reasonable to conclude that the ruination of Brett Kavanaugh was also just hearing theatrics.”
The host also said that “what really stood out” to him about Harris’s remarks was that “she sold out the cops.”
“She was a cop,” Gutfeld said in reference to Harris’s stint as California’s attorney general for six years. “But she’s no longer a cop.”
Gutfeld also criticized Biden’s remarks for parroting the widely debunked talking point that President Trump praised neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017.
“You saw Joe Biden trot out the ‘fine people’ hoax, which has already been discredited,” Gutfeld said. “Trump wasn’t talking about racists. He was talking about both sides of the statue debate. Anyone with half a brain, i.e. Joe, knows that.”
