Fort Bragg soldier killed and three others injured in military vehicle accident

One soldier was killed and three others were injured in a military vehicle accident on Thursday at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, the 18th Airborne Corps said.

The injured soldiers were transported to Womack Army Medical Center after the incident occurred around noon. The unidentified soldiers are receiving treatment, and their conditions were not stated in a report by Stars and Stripes.

“We are saddened by [the] death of one of our own as a result of a vehicle accident today,” said Maj. Gen. Brian Mennes, deputy commanding general of the 18th Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg. “Our heart goes out to the soldier’s family and friends as we collectively mourn the loss of this soldier.”

The name of the dead soldier is being withheld for 24 hours while family members are notified.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
