WATCH LIVE: Trump holds rally in Biloxi, Miss., for Cindy Hyde-Smith

President Trump is holding the second of two Mississippi rallies Monday evening in Biloxi to support Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith in her runoff election against Democratic challenger Mike Espy on Tuesday.

The event is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. CST.

The president held an earlier rally in which he compared himself to Elvis Presley in the legendary singer’s hometown of Tupelo. “We love Elvis. I shouldn’t say this — you’ll say I’m very conceited because I’m not — but other than the blond hair, when I was growing up they said I looked like Elvis,” Trump said. “Can you believe it? I always considered that a great compliment.”

Tuesday’s runoff was triggered after Hyde-Smith and Espy tied on Election Day.

Hyde-Smith has had several campaign contributors demand refunds of their contributions amid the fallout from a number of controversies, including one related to a joke she made about wanting to attend a “public hanging” and the implications of her attendance of a racially segregated school in the 1970s.

Trump has defended Hyde-Smith, arguing that her comments were not racially charged and stressed that she is “needed” in Congress.
