Towson-based Black and Decker Corp. reported third-quarter earnings Thursday of $85.8 million, or $1.42 per share, down from $104.6 million, or $1.59 per share, last year, the company said.
The power tool maker’s sales dropped 4 percent for the quarter to $1.6 billion on worsening economic conditions and the ongoing slowdown in new home construction.
