Pro-Trump NY Post takes victory lap on positive polls

The New York Post is heralding a series of polls showing Donald Trump beating Hillary Clinton in the general election, and the pro-Trump paper celebrated the trend this week by publishing a huge front-page spread on the results.

Trump was either ahead of or breaking even with Clinton in two polls out this weekend, which makes it four straight surveys in which the billionaire businessman gave giving Clinton a run for her money.

A Washington Post/ABC News poll released this weekend showed Trump beating Clinton 46-44 percent. An NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey released at the same time showed Clinton barely ahead of Trump by just 3 percentage points, just outside the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

A recent Fox News poll published last week showed Trump winning 45-42 percent, and a Rasmussen survey released at around the same time also had the casino tycoon beating the Democratic front-runner, 42-37 percent.

For the Post, which endorsed Trump in April, Clinton and her supporters need to take stock of their campaign.
