White House tears into ‘disgruntled’ Omarosa for claims in new book

Former Trump adviser Omarosa Manigault should stop “trying to profit” off “false attacks” against President Trump, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Friday, following the release of a new book by the former “Celebrity Apprentice” star about her time in the administration.

Manigault’s forthcoming tell-all, titled “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House,” supposedly includes several damning claims about Trump’s mental state and his treatment of aides inside the West Wing. The Daily Beast reported earlier this week that Manigault discreetly recorded the president on several occasions while serving as director of communications for the Office of the Public Liaison.

The ex-White House aide also alleges that Trump used the N-word “multiple times” during his time on NBC’s “The Apprentice,” claiming in her book that there are tapes to prove so.

“Instead of telling the truth about all the good President Trump and his administration are doing to make America safe and prosperous, this book is riddled with lies and false accusations. It’s sad that a disgruntled former White House employee is trying to profit off these false attacks,” Sanders said.

She also tossed blame on the media for giving Manigault a platform to spread falsehoods “after not taking her seriously when she had only positive things to say about the president during her time in the administration.”

Manigault, who earned the maximum annual White House salary of $179,700 during her tenure, has previously been accused of changing her tune about Trump to gain attention and lucrative publicity opportunities. Just weeks after leaving her West Wing role, she could be seen bashing Trump as a cast-member of CBS’ “Celebrity Big Brother.”

Reports that emerged at the time of Manigault’s firing by Trump chief of staff John Kelly suggested she was “physically removed” from the White House complex after attempting to enter the president’s private residence to plead for her job.

Her book is set to be released Aug. 14 by Gallery Books.
