Rubio: Trump will evolve once he’s in the White House

Sen. Marco Rubio predicted that Donald Trump will refine his policies as soon as he’s in the White House and has better access to information.

Rubio was asked on WGN radio whether Trump can really do the job as president, and answered that Trump would likely be able to evolve.

“I also think there’s something to be said for, once you’re actually in that position, once you’re actually working at this thing, and you’re in there, and you start to have access to information that perhaps you didn’t have before, especially for someone who’s never been in politics, I think it starts to impact your views a little bit,” Rubio said.

“And that’s my sense of it, as he settles into this role as the nominee and ultimately the president, that the access to these issues is going to begin to, in some ways, kind of shape some of the policy positions given reality versus perhaps what you might read about on a blog somewhere,” he added. “So I think that’s gonna be a real factor.”

Rubio indicated he has no choice but to pick Trump over Hillary Clinton, even though he admitted it’s not quite clear what the nation would get under a Trump presidency.

“It’s an open question in some ways, but in the other way I would say to you we know exactly what we’re gonna get with Hillary Clinton,” Rubio responded. “To me, that’s even more concerning.”
