‘You are untruthful!’: Trump lashes out at reporters after Mueller testimony

After special counsel Robert Mueller testified before Congress, President Trump went on the offensive against reporters asking him questions about the hearing.

The president targeted a number of different journalists during an impromptu press gaggle before a flight to West Virginia on Wednesday.

“You are fake news, you’re one of the most,” Trump said to one reporter. “You’re fake news.”

Later in the gaggle, another reporter chimed in and began to ask about Mueller’s statement that a president could be charged after leaving office, to which Trump interjected, “No, he didn’t say that. Again, you’re fake news and you’re right at the top of the list also. Let me just tell you, go back to what — it is not what he said. Read his correction.”

PBS correspondent Yamiche Alcindor said he was also singled out by the president when asking questions about the hearing. Alcindor was asking questions about Mueller’s testimony that he found Trump’s written answers “generally” untruthful.

“You’re untruthful when you ask that question. When you ask that question, you’re untruthful. And you know who else is untruthful? You know who else is untruthful? His aides,” Trump shot back.

Playboy White House correspondent and CNN analyst Brian Karem tweeted out a photo of Trump pointing and claimed that he was also singled out as “fake news” during the presser.

Karem recently drew headlines after getting into a confrontation with former White House staffer Sebastian Gorka after Trump’s July 11 social media summit. Karem said the audience was a “group of people that are eager for demonic possession.”

When Gorka shouted back at Karem, he responded, “We can go outside and have a long conversation.”

“You’re a punk! You’re not a journalist! You’re a punk!” Gorka shouted back in his face.
