‘A political hack’: Sanders slams former Clinton adviser James Carville

Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has strong words for Democrats challenging his electability.

Former Bill Clinton adviser James Carville recently criticized the Democratic Party’s embrace of socialism, saying, “They’ve tacked off the damn radar screen. It’s not how you become a majoritarian party.”

During an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Sanders slammed Carville, calling him a “political hack.”

“Look, James, in all due respect, is a political hack who said very terrible things when he was working for Clinton against Barack Obama,” Sanders said. “We are taking on the establishment. This is no secret to anybody.”

Sanders said his populist, socialist movement is taking on Republicans and Democrats, including Carville. “At the end of the day, the grassroots movement that we are putting together of young people, of working people, of people of color, want real change.”
