Surveillance video released in Subway robbery

Montgomery County police are continuing to search for the man who robbed a Silver Spring Subway restaurant at gunpoint earlier this month.

Recently released surveillance video shows a man entering the restaurant at 8040 13th Street, brandishing a silver revolver, jumping over the counter and forcing a cashier to open the register.

The suspect fled on foot after obtaining cash, police said. Authorities didn’t disclose the amount.

The robbery happened at about 7:40 p.m. on July 2.

The suspect is described as a black man who is about 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 230 to 250 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, gray shorts and white socks.
