Prince George’s County police arrested a 41-year-old man in a decade-old homicide in Upper Marlboro.

Police charged Billy Joe Simon with the murder of 27-year-old Michael Neal, who was found dead inside his home on June 10, 2001. Police believe he was killed in a home robbery and Neal knew his killer.

Through forensics evidence, detectives developed Simon as a suspect and a warrant was obtained for his arrest last week. Police found Simon in the 2600 block of Marbury Drive in District Heights and took him into custody without incident. He is being held without bond.

Police are looking into the possibility that another person was also involved in the slaying.
