Democrat offers to visit every district from which a Republican voted for ‘Trumpcare’

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y., said that he is willing to go into every district from which a Republican voted for “Trumpcare” and explain it to their constituents.

“I think every Republican who voted for this thing ought to have to stand in front of their voters and explain it,” Maloney told Rachel Maddow on MSNBC Friday evening.

Maloney’s comments were in reference to Rep. John Faso, R-N.Y., who represents a neighboring district. The congressman told MSNBC that Faso broke his promise to constituents by voting for the GOP bill passed by the House which would partially repeal and replace Obamacare.

“Maybe a Democrat ought to go into every district where a Republican who supported Trumpcare won’t hold a town hall meeting, and do it for them,” Maloney said.

When the repeal-and-replace bill was narrowly passed by the House on Thursday, Maloney tweeted at Faso, telling him to turn his phones on and take constituent calls about “Trumpcare.”
