Hillary Clinton currently holds an overwhelming lead over Donald Trump, according to a new poll released Thursday.
According to the latest Loras College poll, Clinton tops Trump by more than 14 percentage points in a head-to-head matchup, leading with 48.2 percent support to Trump’s 33.8 percent. Eleven percent are currently undecided with more than four months until election day.
When other candidates, such as Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and Green Party presumptive nominee Jill Stein, are factored into the mix, Clinton sits at 44 percent compared to Trump’s 30.7 percent. Johnson and Stein, meanwhile, take home 6 percent and 2 percent, respectively.
Clinton holds this lead despite a 53 percent unfavorable rating, with 41.3 percent viewing her favorably. However, she enjoys solid numbers compared to Trump, who has a 68.9 percent unfavorable rating, while only 27.6 percent view him in a favorable manner.
Trump’s low ratings in the state are also taking its toll on GOP candidates in down-ballot contests, with longtime Sen. Chuck Grassley finding himself in an unexpectedly tight battle for reelection. Grassley only leads former Lt. Gov. Patty Judge by a 1.3 percent margin (45.8-44.5 percent).
Iowa was one of the few states Trump did not win during the GOP primary, losing the first-in-the-nation caucuses to Sen. Ted Cruz by a 3-point margin.
Overall, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average, Clinton leads in Iowa with 44.5 percent to Trump’s 36.5 percent.
