Michael Moore to progressives: Clinton isn’t Sanders. Get over it

Filmmaker Michael Moore said progressives need to “get over” the fact that Hillary Clinton isn’t Bernie Sanders.

“Well, she’s not Bernie. So get over it,” Moore said on MSNBC Friday. He was a big supporter of Sanders in the Democratic primary, but switched to Clinton after the socialist senator failed to gain enough party support.

Even though Sanders isn’t heading to the Oval Office, Moore said his supporters should appreciate that Clinton has adopted much of the senator’s idealistic vision.

“Why are Bernie voters upset? We did something huge and she’s adopted two-thirds of his platform. She moved in the right direction.”

Moore said he was excited that the country will have “a socialist in charge of the budget” if the Democrats keep the Senate because Sanders will be the new chairman of the chamber’s Budget Committee. He said progressives should recognize that the election is going to be a “great day” because they could make a “significant and profound” difference.

To the naysayers, he said they could do far worse than Clinton.

“She’s not Margaret Thatcher. We’re not being asked to vote for somebody who so is not us,” said Moore, asserting that Clinton isn’t going to sign into law legislation that will “hurt kids” or old people, nor anything that’s going to state “the government has a right to your reproductive organs.”

Moore has been promoting his recent film “Michael Moore in Trumpland” and has repeatedly warned his fellow progressives that Donald Trump could steal the election from Clinton.
