Domino’s Pizza served a slice of humble pie to Never-Trump Republican Rick Wilson.
The pizza company slammed Wilson on social media for mocking a nearly decade-old tweet from the brand’s account in which Domino’s thanked now-White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany for complimenting its food in 2012.
Wilson joked on Monday, telling Domino’s that “you just killed you brand” for issuing the tweet from eight years ago.
“Welp. It’s unfortunate that thanking a customer for a compliment back in 2012 would be viewed as political. Guess that’s 2020 for ya,” the company responded.

At the time, McEnany tweeted that she believed Domino’s Pizza was “wayyyy better” than the other pizzas available in New York City, prompting Domino’s to reply, “Thanks for the love!”
@kayleighmcenany That’s one heck of a compliment! Thanks for the love! #WEAPPRECIATEIT!

Wilson was widely blasted by conservatives on social media for commenting on the lighthearted conversation, and McEnany responded that her love for Domino’s remains unchanged.
“I LOVE @dominos (and also @pizzahut)!” she tweeted.
I LOVE @dominos (and also @pizzahut)! ❤️

Wilson later claimed to followers that he did not dig up the old tweet and that it merely “came through” his timeline, telling one critic, “Bro, breathe.”
