Tiger Woods said Tuesday that he expects to play in the Masters Tournament, his first time playing at the top level since a horrific car crash last year.
Woods, 46, expects to play in the Augusta, Georgia, tournament sometime later this week, predicting he could win his sixth Masters if he enters.
“As of right now, I feel like I am going to play,” Woods said in a press conference, adding that he thinks he could win the tournament.
Woods, who won the Masters most recently in 2019, competed in his first golf tournament since his accident last December.

Woods said Sunday that he was headed to Augusta to practice, saying in a post on Twitter it would be a “game-time decision” on whether to compete.
Woods got into a major car crash last February that left his right leg severely injured, telling Golf Digest in November that he doubted he would ever play golf again full time.

“I don’t have to compete and play with the best players in the world to have a great life,” Woods said at the time. “I could still maybe, if my leg gets good enough, maybe click off a tournament here or there.”
