John McCain to start cancer treatment Monday

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., plans to begin treatment for brain cancer next week, just days after casting a decisive vote on healthcare.

The senator will return to Arizona to start treatment on Monday, according to a statement from his office.

McCain was diagnosed with brain cancer last week, after surgery to remove a blood clot from above his left eye.

His vote against the Obamacare repeal in the early hours of Friday morning was met with surprise. McCain joined Sens. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, in voting against the bill.
