Former D.C. human resources director Judy Banks sent and received a total of 10,322 emails in just under three months in office, according to an internal council email obtained by The Washington Examiner. Ward 3 Councilwoman Mary Cheh has requested all of those emails be turned over as part of her committee’s investigation into hiring practices by the Gray administration. Banks has become a focal point after some of her testimony was called into question when an earlier, more narrow search of her email produced evidence contrary to statements she made to the council while under oath. – Freeman Klopott
