George Zimmerman calls Black Lives Matter ‘terrorist cowards’

George Zimmerman said in court Wednesday the Black Lives Matter movement was a group of “terrorist cowards.”

“First of all, they’re terrorists. It’s not a movement, as you have said. Now, I see them as terrorists, if you’d like to address them correctly,” Zimmerman told a lawyer during questioning in a court proceeding.

The 32-year-old Florida resident was in court to testify against Matthew Apperson, who is on trial for attempting to kill Zimmerman for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in 2012.

Zimmerman was asked whether Black Lives Matter was created in response to the death of Martin, but he did not confirm or deny the lawyer’s hypothesis.

Zimmerman repeatedly knocked down the lawyer’s question and corrected him a number of times when he referred to the group as a “movement.”

Black Lives Matter has described itself as a group focused on ensuring all African-Americans receive full civil rights and protection under the law.
