Joy Behar tells Fauci to get off Trump ‘bandwagon’ and become ‘media darling’ at CNN or MSNBC

The View’s Joy Behar said that Dr. Anthony Fauci should get off President Trump’s “bandwagon” by leaving the White House coronavirus task force and becoming a “media darling” at CNN or MSNBC.

Hosts of The View addressed “Fire Fauci” chants heard at a Trump rally this weekend, which prompted the president to say he’s considering the option after the election.

“First off, these people — these people chant more than a swami I used to date,” Behar said after watching a clip from the rally. “Here’s the thing with Fauci and the tone-deafness and stupidity of Trump: No. 1, I was a civil servant, OK. You can’t fire a civil servant so easily. It’s impossible.”

She continued, “But I would say he would be doing Fauci a favor if he could fire him. Fauci needs to quit. Get off of Trump’s bandwagon altogether and go on television and become the media darling at CNN, MSNBC, and I bet they’ll put you on at Fox.”

The chants occurred Sunday about 25 minutes into the Miami rally.

“Don’t tell anybody, but let me wait till a little after the election,” Trump said in response. “I appreciate the advice.”

On Saturday, the Washington Post published a story in which Fauci warned of a coronavirus surge, contradicting Trump’s statements that the country is “rounding the turn.”

“We’re in for a whole lot of hurt. It’s not a good situation,” Fauci said. “All the stars are aligned in the wrong place as you go into the fall and winter season, with people congregating at home indoors. You could not possibly be positioned more poorly.”
