Kevin Spacey formally charged with indecent assault

Actor Kevin Spacey was formally charged with indecent assault of a teenager in court Monday.

The charge comes one year after a former Boston news anchor accused Spacey of sexually assaulting her son in 2016. The son was 18 at the time of the alleged assault.

Heather Unruh says that the former “House of Cards” star groped her son at the bar in Club Car restaurant in Nantucket, where the teenager worked as a busboy.

Spacey did not enter a plea on the charge of felony indecent assault and battery during the arraignment in a Nantucket courtroom, according to the Associated Press.

The judge’s order says that Spacey must stay away from the young man he allegedly assaulted, and set another hearing for March 4.

If convicted, Spacey could face up to five years in prison.

Although dozens of media and entertainment figures have been fired or faced backlash following sexual misconduct allegations, Spacey is just the second man to be criminally charged under related allegations since the emergence of the #MeToo movement.
