Former Vice President Joe Biden is slated to appear at a forum Friday hosted by former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
Biden will be interviewed by Romney at the invitation-only summit in Deer Valley, Utah. The former vice president will join Romney allies Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and John McCain, R-Ariz., along with former Romney running mate House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis.
“Biden is attending because he believes in bipartisanship and the importance of keeping good lines of communication open across the aisle,” a Biden spokesperson told the Desert News.
The appearance comes just days after Biden announced the formation of a new Super PAC called American Possibilities, immediately fueling speculation about his intentions to run for 2020.
While Biden has routinely downplayed speculation that he will run in 2020, he has also said he hasn’t entirely ruled it out. Since leaving office he has sought to keep a higher profile along with signing a book deal.
