‘No’: Sanders refuses to name possible women VP candidates

Bernie Sanders on Tuesday said there are “many women” who are qualified to be his vice presidential candidate, but refused to name more than one.

Appearing on “Morning Joe,” Sanders was asked by panelist Mark Halperin if there are any women in particular he might be considering as a running mate.

“Are there any women?” Sanders replied. “Yes, there are many women who would be qualified for that job.”

“Could you name a couple?” Halperin pressed.

“No, I think it’s a little bit early to be speculating on that,” Sanders said as the panel chuckled.

However, Sanders then named Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass, as someone who has been a “real champion” for working families.

“There are other fantastic women who have been active in all kinds of fights who I think would make great vice presidential candidates,” Sanders added.
