An alligator with a knife stuck in the middle of its head has caused concern among Fort Bend, Texas, residents.
“Almost every morning I see them,” Erin Weaver, who lives inside Orchard Lakes Estates known for its alligator sightings, told ABC 13 Eyewitness News. “Never have I seen them aggressive or even defensive, if you walk by and startle, them they just go under water.”
Residents are concerned about a particular alligator that has a knife sticking out from the middle of its head.
“I saw him swimming and then I saw him turn, like swimming towards me, and I saw something sticking out of his head,” Weaver said.
“It looked like a steak knife that was sticking out of his head, I don’t know if it was in his eye, but it looked, if it wasn’t in his eye it was very close to his eye,” she added.
Weaver took a photo of the alligator and circulated the news around her neighborhood. Residents want something to be done about the alligator.
“I want to get help for this alligator, I don’t want to see an alligator swimming around with a knife in his head and suffering,” she said.
The Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office said they will not be able to write a report on the alligator until an officer is able to see the animal in person.
The State Park Superintendent Chris Bishop said the alligator may be okay even with the knife in its head. He said the animals are infection resistant and might not even be in pain.
