Apparently shocked by the United Kingdom’s vote to exit the European Union, Secretary of State John Kerry hastily added stops in Brussels and London to his current European trip to hold urgent discussions with his British and EU counterparts.
Kerry arrived in Rome Sunday for meetings with Italian officials and a working lunch with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Agence France-Press reported. He will move on to Brussels and London Monday.
President Obama strongly opposed Brexit, even urging the British during a visit to the United Kingdom to reject it.
