Horrifying footage shows the moment a New York man attempted to jump over a subway turnstile and ended up falling and breaking his neck fatally.
Christopher De La Cruz, 28, was pronounced dead after falling head-first onto the ground while trying to jump over a subway turnstile without paying at the Forest Hills-71st Avenue train station in Queens at about 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, police said.

Surveillance footage showed Cruz, wearing a backpack, attempted several times to jump over the barrier but fails at first because he can’t get his feet high enough. A subsequent attempt leads to Cruz stumbling head-first onto the hard ground in front of the barrier, where his neck was broken on impact.

 Cruz was declared dead at the scene, police said.
