Grains futures soar; Beef, pork prices fall

CHICAGO (AP) — Grains futures rose Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for September delivery jumped 53.50 cents to $7.41 a bushel; December corn gained 40 cents to $5.94 a bushel; December oats leapt 20 cents to $3.17 a bushel; while November soybeans climbed 50 cents to $14.255 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures tumbled on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle slid 1.03 cent to $1.1587 a pound; August feeder cattle dropped 3 cents to $1.498 a pound; while August lean hogs fell 2.22 cents to 89.15 cents a pound.
