Biden bringing back annual White House Easter egg roll

President Joe Biden is bringing back two spring traditions at the White House: the annual Easter egg roll and public tours of the grounds and South Gardens.

The White House Easter egg roll will take place on April 18, Easter Monday, officials said in a statement, marking the first time the White House has hosted “one of the oldest traditions in White House history” since 2019.

The White House may suspend or reschedule the event should the coronavirus situation in Washington, D.C., worsen over the next month.

“The White House will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation based on recommendations from the CDC and other public health officials and medical experts,” officials added. “The White House reserves the right to adjust availability of the public tours as necessary to adhere to the latest health guidance.”

The White House will supply face masks for attendees to wear but will not require their use. Furthermore, the White House is stressing that “anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, has had any COVID-19 symptoms, or been in close contact with someone confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19 within 10 days prior to their visit may not attend.”

The White House will open a ticket lottery from March 25 to March 31, and interested parties can sign up here.
