Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez explained things she has in common with “some” Republicans during an Instagram Live video Friday night.
The congresswoman did a live stream on Instagram while cooking and answered questions from viewers in the comments section. Ocasio-Cortez has done this on multiple occasions as a way for her to to connect with supporters.
Common ground I find with (some) GOP:
– Ending needless war & curbing exploding military spending
– Protecting civil liberties & privacy rights (I believe people shouldn’t be spied on by gov or corporations, incl your phone & habits)

Ocasio-Cortez reiterated the comments on social media at the conclusion of her live broadcast. The congresswoman explained she agrees with certain Republican concepts including “ending needless war & curbing exploding military spending,” “protecting civil liberties & private rights (I believe people shouldn’t be spied on by gov or corporations, incl[uding] your phone & habits),” and “holding bad contractors accountable.”
Ocasio-Cortez, a liberal freshman from New York, has championed far-left leaning policies including the Green New Deal and a single-payer healthcare system.
