Bolsonaro deletes social media post saying WHO encourages children to be gay and masturbate

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro deleted a social media post that claimed the World Health Organization was indoctrinating children.

Bolsonaro wrote in a Wednesday post on Facebook that the WHO encourages masturbation and gay relationships among children, while complaining about recommended social distancing protocols.

“This is the World Health Organization whose advice on coronavirus some people want me to follow,” he reportedly wrote.

“Should we follow their education policy guidelines, too? For children zero to four years old: satisfaction and pleasure when touching their bodies, masturbation… For children four to six years old: a positive gender identity… masturbation in early childhood, same-sex relations… Nine to 12 years old: first sexual experience.”

Before Bolsonaro made the post, his adviser, Arthur Weintraub, shared a similar message on social media: “The WHO has guidelines recommending children zero to four years old be taught about ‘masturbation,’ ‘pleasure and enjoyment,’ ‘touching one’s body’ and ‘gender ideology.’ Is that right?” he said.

More than 3.2 million people have tested positive for the coronavirus globally. Of those, more than 233,000 have died from it, and more than 986,000 have recovered.

The United States has seen at least 1 million confirmed cases, with more than 62,000 deaths and nearly 126,000 reported recoveries. More than 6,231,182 people have been tested for the virus, according to the latest reading of the Johns Hopkins University tracker.
