Former NBA star Dennis Rodman said that President Trump is “pretty much the same” as North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Rodman, who has met with Kim on multiple occasions and appeared on Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” show, Rodman told Agence France-Presse while in China that the two leaders exhibit similarities in how “they love control.”
The former athlete also said that the two are engaging in harmless “entertainment” when threatening nuclear warfare and “ain’t nobody got no finger on the button.” However, he hopes to “alleviate some pressures as far as communication” by talking with Kim, who he calls a “friend for life.”
Although the Trump administration has banned U.S. citizens from traveling to North Korea, Rodman hopes to obtain a “special pass” from the president to again visit the hermit nation.
Since 2013, Rodman has visited North Korea five times and maintained a friendly relationship with the dictator.
