Parler announced Thursday that Kanye West is no longer purchasing the social media platform — over a month after the deal was announced.
The news was confirmed by the company in a tweet that said the termination of the intended sale was “mutually agreed” upon.

In response to numerous media inquiries, Parlement Technologies would like to confirm that the company has mutually agreed with Ye to terminate the intent of sale of Parler. This decision was made in the interest of both parties in mid-November.

“Parler will continue to pursue future opportunities for growth and the evolution of the platform for our vibrant community,” the company said in a follow-up tweet.
West and Parler had originally announced the deal in October and said it would close “during the fourth quarter of 2022.” The deal was announced shortly after West was suspended from Twitter for saying he would go “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”
Since the deal was announced, West has been reinstated on Twitter under new owner Elon Musk and has continued to make controversial and antisemitic comments.
Earlier Thursday, West said that he sees “good things about Hitler” and that people should “stop dissing the Nazis” on an appearance with Alex Jones on InfoWars.

Parler made headlines in January 2021 after Apple and Google removed the app from their app stores and Amazon Web Services removed the service from its cloud computing services, with all three citing the company’s lack of action to stop or block posts inciting the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021. Google and Apple have since reinstated Parler in their app stores, and the platform found a different server host.
