Trump: Vindman is ‘out’ because he had ‘problems with judgment’

President Trump explained he fired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman because of his lack of judgment and insubordination.

“Fake News @CNN & MSDNC keep talking about ‘Lt. Col.’ Vindman as though I should think only how wonderful he was,” the president said Saturday in a tweet. “Actually, I don’t know him, never spoke to him, or met him (I don’t believe!) but, he was very insubordinate, reported contents of my ‘perfect’ calls incorrectly, & was given a horrendous report by his superior, the man he reported to, who publicly stated that Vindman had problems with judgement, adhering to the chain of command and leaking information. In other words, ‘OUT’.”

Vindman, a key witness in the impeachment trial against Trump, was fired and escorted out of the White House on Friday. His dismissal came two days after the president was acquitted on all impeachment charges by the Senate.

Trump also fired U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland on Friday. Sondland was a Trump donor and also a key witness in the impeachment investigation. He initially gave testimony in favor of the president before changing his statements.
