Trump will be Trump, aide says

Though Donald Trump is “transitioning” into the role of the Republican Party’s presidential nominee, don’t expect him to change into a different person says a top campaign official for Trump’s campaign.

“Donald Trump will always be Donald Trump. And that’s what voters love about him. And you’re not going to see that change,” said Trump senior campaign adviser Sarah Huckabee Sanders in an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.”

Huckabee Sanders is the daugther of former Arkansas Gov. and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.

According to a report last week, senior Trump aide Paul Manafort has privately outlined an image change for the bombastic candidate, who is infamous for making controversial statements in interviews, debates, campaign rallies and on social media.

Asked by host Maria Bartiromo if Trump is indeed changing his tone, Huckabee Sanders said, “I think Donald Trump is becoming the presumptive nominee, and he’s transitioning into that role and pivoting into that and making his focus Hillary Clinton.”

Trump leads the Republican field with 845 delegates, followed by Ted Cruz at 559, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 148. A total of 1,237 delegates are needed to clinch the nomination. With five primary contests slated for Tuesday, Huckabee Sanders said she thinks her boss will have “a really good Tuesday.”
