Republican senator Lamar Alexander has won his primary in Tennessee, according to the Associated Press:

Alexander faced state representative Joe Carr, who criticized the two-term senator chiefly for his support of the Gang of 8 immigration bill. Alexander is currently winning, 51 percent to 39 percent, over Carr.
Alexander is heavily favored to win the general election in November.
