Millions of people RSVP’d months ago for a storming of Area 51 set for September, but only a couple dozen people actually showed up to the event when the time came.
The event, which occurred Friday, began as an internet joke for people to “see them aliens.” After over two million people RSVP’d for the event, authorities worried that upwards of several thousand people could attempt to come to the restricted area.
However, when the event kicked off, only an estimated 75 people showed up, with one person being arrested for public urination.

Air Force leaders begged the public not to attend the event just days before it happened.
“All joking aside, we’re taking it very seriously,” Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Dave Goldfein said. “Our nation has secrets, and those secrets deserve to be protected.”
The Air Force made preparations for the event in case any UFO sightseers attempted to charge the top secret site. They added security personnel along with barricades.
The original Facebook invite joked that “they can’t stop all of us.” Last week, two Dutch citizens were arrested for trespassing near the site, claiming they were there to attend the “Storm Area 51” event.
