Anonymous takes credit for more Trump harassment

Several websites within Donald Trump’s empire were shut down several times over the weekend as a result of attacks from the hacking collective of Anonymous.

“This declaration of war is no April Fool’s joke,” a member of the group adorned with the typical Guy Fawkes mask said in a YouTube video posted March 31. Following that threat, the group crashed several websites associated with Trump businesses and his presidential campaign. Those included CitizensForTrump.com, TrumpHotelCollection.Com, TrumpChicago.com, TrumpInitiative.com and Trump.com.

“Dear Donald Trump, how do you plan to protect America if you can’t even protect something as simple as your websites?” said the individual featured in the YouTube video. “This is just the beginning and you should’ve expected us. We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget, Donald Trump, expect us.”

The speaker on the video demonstrated exemplary grammar compared with spokesmen for past attacks, suggesting the group may have found a Western spokesman. Representatives in past attacks suggested in broken English that they did not take kindly to Trump’s political opinions, suggesting, for instance, that he “apologize to the Mexican for your remark on them.”

Anonymous has been harassing websites within the Trump empire since the announcement of his presidential campaign last year. In December, members of the group prominently criticized him for saying the death penalty should apply to those who kill police officers. And after some members took credit for apparently posting Trump’s personal information online in March, including his Social Security number, the Secret Service announced that it was opening an investigation into the issue.
