‘No one knows’: Psaki punts on Biden running in 2024

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki would not say if President Joe Biden will run again in 2024.

Psaki is starting her new career as a host on NBC News’s Peacock streaming service after the new year, and when pressed on Biden 2024 during an interview with Vanity Fair, she simply responded, “Honestly, I don’t think that’s my call to make.”

FIRST LADY SAYS SHE AND BIDEN HAVEN’T TALKED ABOUT RUNNING IN 2024

“My experience working for him is very much — he’s up for the job. Whether or not the public would elect him, would nominate him — that’s not for me to decide,” she continued. “No one knows that, and that’s my point.”

Psaki did note that Biden is the only Democrat “who beat Donald Trump” and “has a record to run on.”

Despite her tenure as a top Biden administration official, Psaki added that her new position is to report and not “guess” about what’s happening behind the scenes at the White House.

“Sometimes people have asked me on set — and I assume if it makes sense on election night, they would, too — what’s happening in the White House now,” she said. “What do I bring to the table? I bring contacts from 20 years in Washington, including people in the current administration.”

Psaki’s comments come as questions bubble about replacing Biden atop the Democratic ticket for 2024 considering his age, especially should the party lose both its majorities in Tuesday’s midterm elections.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) have been floated as primary challengers to Biden in the next election.

Meanwhile, new reports suggest Trump could announce another bid for the White House as soon as Nov. 14, should his endorsed candidates win their races on Tuesday.
