U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley hit back at White House claims she was “confused” when she foreshadowed Trump administration moves to impose more sanctions on Russia.
“With all due respect, I don’t get confused,” Haley said in a statement, according to multiple reports.

Haley told Sunday morning talk shows that “Russian sanctions will be coming down” in response to Kremlin support of Syrian President Bashar Assad, who last week the U.S. blamed for a chemical weapons attack on his own people.
“[Treasury] Secretary Steven Mnuchin will be announcing those on Monday, if he hasn’t already,” she said during an interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
But on Monday, the White House walked back Haley’s comments, with White House press secretary Sarah Sanders saying options were still being considered.
White House chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow told reporters Tuesday Haley’s statements were probably the result of “momentary confusion.”
