Arizona GOP enlists chairman’s young daugther to blast anti-Trump delegates

Anti-Trump delegates seeking rules changes to vote their conscience at the GOP convention have drawn the ire of the Arizona Republican Party.

The Arizona GOP posted a video on Facebook of Faith Graham, the 12-year-old daughter of the state’s GOP chairman, blasting the “Free The Delegates” movement looking to unbind themselves from Donald Trump.

“Free the Delegates? Shouldn’t we be more concerned with freeing America instead of taking away the voice of almost 14 million Republican voters?” Graham is shown asking in the video. “I lost good friends that had to move because their family lost their homes and their jobs. It should make us all sad to watch so many people struggling to make ends meet.”

The 12-year-old continued, “I plead with organizers of Free The Delegates, please do not abandon the will of the voters and the voice of ‘we the people.’ Stop what you are doing. We can’t let Hillary win.”

The video comes amid squabbles between Robert Graham, the Arizona GOP chairman, and delegates from his state to the Republican National Convention. Lori Hack, an Arizona delegate, notified Graham on Monday that she would not willingly submit a pledge of loyalty to Trump.

“Duly elected delegates have an obligation to vote their conscience, free of fear and threats,” Hack said in a statement shared by Delegates Unbound, another group looking to unbind delegates from Trump. “Chairman Robert Graham is undermining that obligation by withholding credentials from delegates who fail to pledge loyalty to Donald Trump.”

Whether the anti-Trump delegates succeed at inserting a “conscience clause” into the rules that govern the GOP nominating process would likely be determined later this week when the rules committee gathers in Cleveland.
