Four women have been arrested and charged with prostitution, after an Anne Arundel County police crackdown on Internet escort services in the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport area.
The women specifically choose the area to dodge law enforcement, said Officer Sara Schriver. She said the women had a strategy of flying into a city, staying for a few weeks and then leaving.
Undercover detectives scoured the Internet for escort services, which are frequently decoys for prostitution rings, Schriver said.
One detective arrested Emily Earlene Fritz, of CostaMesa, Calif., after an Aug. 1 meeting at the Hilton Garden Hotel near BWI, according to charging documents.
Fritz, 18, posted an advertisement on the Web site Craig?s List under the alias “Luxury,” charging documents said. Beneath a sexually graphic message, Fritz wrote “don?t miss out … give me a call” and listed prices of $150 for a half hour and $250 for an hour, the documents state.
The detective arranged to meet Fritz at the Hilton Garden, the documents said; when he arrived, Fritz asked if he had her donation. The detective paid her $150 and asked if he was paying for “full service,” according to police. Fritz said yes and undressed, the documents say. The detective then arrested her.
Almost $500 in cash, “several condoms, sex toys and lubricating lotions” were found in the room, the charging documents say.
In another recent arrest, Laurel resident Kelly Nicole West, 20, was charged with prostitution, police said. West met a detective July 13 at Starting Gate Liquors in Laurel, and then took him to a room at Motel 6, the documents stated.
Two other women were also charged with prostitution during the crackdown: Ashley Price, 20, of Washington, and Carlena Monite Perry, 26, of Schaumburg, Ill.
