A Wednesday morning fire at Tune Inn on Capitol Hill caused $75,000 to $100,000 in damage, according to fire officials.
The blaze broke out at the restaurant, located 331 1/2 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, at about 7:15 a.m., said Pete Piringer, spokesman for D.C. fire and emergency services.
Staff called 911 after the fire started in the kitchen. The building was evacuated and no one was injured, Piringer said.
He said the blaze caused moderate smoke and water damage throughout the building. The heaviest fire and damage was in the kitchen area. The fire’s cause is believed to be accidental.
