Amazon faced backlash for listing Christmas decorations and bottle openers featuring photos of the Nazi death camp Auschwitz.
Pointing out the listing in a Sunday tweet, Poland’s Auschwitz-Birkenau state museum’s account said the products were inappropriate.
“Selling ‘Christmas ornaments’ with images of Auschwitz does not seem appropriate. Auschwitz on a bottle opener is rather disturbing and disrespectful. We ask @amazon to remove the items of those suppliers,” the tweet, which soon went viral, read.

The ornaments show the German concentration camp in occupied Poland, where thousands of Jews were killed. One of them is in the shape of a snowflake with an image of barbed wire and brick buildings. The description reads, “Ideal for city souvenirs, to commemorate and collection [sic] the cities you have visited.”
After the social media pressure, Amazon said that the “products in question” were removed from its website.
“All sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who do not will be subject to action, including potential removal of their account,” a spokesman said.
