Jared Kushner claims Trump campaign was too disorganized to collude with Russia: Report

Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and White House senior adviser, offered a new defense Monday on why the Trump campaign did not collude with Russia: the Trump campaign was too disorganized to pull something like that off.

“They thought we colluded, but we couldn’t even collude with our local offices,” Kushner told congressional interns during a private meeting at the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington on Monday afternoon.

According to a transcript of the event obtained by Foreign Policy, Kushner said “we don’t know where it’s going” when asked about Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s possible collusion with Russia on interfering in the 2016 presidential election.

Kushner also defended his failure to initially disclose conversations he had with foreign officials on his security clearance application, which he updated twice to include meetings with Russian officials.

“There are 127 pages on the SF-86, but there are only two you guys have to worry about,” he said. “Make sure you guys keep track of where you travel.”

Kushner last week met privately with the Senate and House Intelligence Committees to discuss his contacts with Russians, and denied allegations of collusion.

“I did not collude, nor know of anyone else in the campaign who colluded, with any foreign government,” he said.
