A 2-year-old child died Tuesday morning after her grandmother allegedly threw her from an outdoor walkway at the Tysons Corner Center.
Fairfax County police said the grandmother, Carmela Dela Rosa, 50, of Fairfax, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding. The charge could be upgraded to murder, police said.
Police said the child, Angelyn Ogdoc, of Falls Church, was thrown from the sixth-floor walkway at the center, 1961 Chain Bridge Road, at about 7:10 p.m. Monday. Dela Rosa, the child and other family members were walking from the mall to a parking garage. Police said it’s not known why Angelyn was thrown.
Angelyn was taken to Fairfax Inova Hospital in life-threatening condition and died at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
