The coronavirus has infected over 38,000 people and killed about 3,600 in Britain. Roughly 140 have recovered.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson tested positive for COVID-19 last week and has isolated himself while continuing to organize the country’s coronavirus response. The British government has recruited hundreds of thousands of former healthcare workers and volunteers to help treat those infected with the virus and stabilize the country’s healthcare system.
Johnson placed the U.K. on lockdown on March 23 to combat the spread of the virus, urging people to stay home as much as possible.
Residents are allowed to go grocery shopping, pick up pharmaceuticals, and make other necessary trips.
